At SPOT srq Dog Grooming, dogs aren’t just pets, they’re family. Since opening in 2017 in Sarasota’s Burns Court, I’ve built a boutique grooming salon dedicated to small dogs under 45 lbs. Our cage-free, stress-free environment means your pup gets one-on-one attention with the highest quality care.
With over 15 years of professional grooming experience, I’ve trained extensively, completed apprenticeship programs, and developed a deep understanding of canine behavior to keep every dog safe and comfortable.
Along the way, my work has been recognized beyond Sarasota:
🐾 As seen on ABC7’s Suncoast View, sharing grooming tips with the community.
🌟 Trusted to groom the Pompeyo Family Dog Troupe, who performed on America’s Got Talent (2017).
Whether your pup needs a fresh trim, a full groom, or just a relaxing spa day, I pride myself on blending style with compassion. Every dog that walks through our doors leaves looking and feeling their best.
Our story
Sometimes life takes you exactly where you’re meant to be. Years ago, I showed up to the wrong location for a job interview — back in the days of MapQuest and printed directions. I thought I was walking into a personal assistant position, but it turned out to be a grooming salon. Looking back, I believe it was divinely designed.
From there, I began my grooming journey with a 1,900-hour apprenticeship under a master groomer trained in Kentucky. Over the past 16 years, I’ve attended countless grooming seminars, honed my skills, and had the honor of receiving multiple awards — including Sarasota’s “Best Grooming Salon” and the Sarasota Reader’s Choice Award. My work has been featured in several grooming magazines, on ABC7’s Suncoast View, and I was even trusted to groom the Pompeyo Family Dog Troupe from America’s Got Talent (2017).
SPOT srq Dog Grooming was born under pressure when the salon I worked for sold. I started grooming from home, then transitioned into a brick-and-mortar space in Sarasota’s Burns Court. Since 2017, I’ve specialized in small dogs under 45 lbs, offering a calm, cage-free, one-on-one grooming experience that you won’t find in high-volume salons. By working alone, I ensure safety, personal attention, and a stress-free environment for every dog.
My goal is simple: when a pup comes in, I want them to feel calm and cared for; when they leave, I want both the dog and their owner to feel the difference that individualized care makes.
Outside the salon, I’m an avid reader of novels and self-development books, a gardener who loves growing food and tending to my passion flowers, and someone who grew up surrounded by animals on a Kentucky farm — riding English saddle and caring for creatures big and small. That connection to animals has always been at the heart of who I am.
The best part of running SPOT srq Dog Grooming is the freedom to do things differently — to create a nurturing environment where quality and compassion come first. After years in high-volume salons where care was often overlooked, I made it my mission to provide a better experience — one dog, one appointment, one peaceful groom at a time.
